High School Show Choir Auditions

The Allure • The Ambitions • The Ambassadors

We’re thrilled to announce auditions for the 2025–2026 Northwest Rankin High School Show Choirs: The Allure, The Ambitions, and The Ambassadors. These three ensembles are a cornerstone of our award-winning choral music program and provide students with the opportunity to grow as vocalists, dancers, and performers while being part of a close-knit, high-energy team. Each group is uniquely designed to challenge students at different stages in their performance journey—from those just beginning to explore show choir, to those ready to compete at the highest level.

Show choir at Northwest Rankin is more than just singing and dancing—it's about building confidence, developing leadership, and finding a place where you belong. Whether you're a returning member, a seasoned performer, or stepping into your first audition, there is a spot for you to grow, shine, and make lasting memories. We encourage all interested students to take that leap and audition. You won’t regret it!

"My four years in show choir have been the most meaningful part of my high school experience. I’ve grown so much as a performer and a person, and I’ve made friendships and memories that will stay with me forever. I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything."

“Show choir has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. It’s helped me find confidence in myself, both on stage and off. But more than anything, it’s given me a second family—a group of people who support each other, work hard together, and celebrate every moment. I’m proud to be part of something this special."

Zyion Seals, Class of 2025

What to Expect at Your Audition

Auditions include three components: choreography, a group vocal performance, and a short a cappella solo.

Choreography
Students will perform the audition routine multiple times in a small group setting. Our creative team will assess stage presence, movement ability, and how well you take direction.

Group Vocal
You will sing a selected section from “Beautiful Day” by U2—starting at letter G and continuing to the end of the song. The audition track begins at 1:54.
Students will sing in small groups using their assigned vocal part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Bass). If you're unsure of your voice part, please ask one of the choral music staff for guidance.

Solo
You’ll also perform a 30-second a cappella solo of your choice. Choose something that highlights your voice, personality, and musicality. This is your moment to shine!
